Foam Ceramic Filter Effects

Non-metallic inclusions in castings are the primary cause of casting defects, affecting surface finish, mechanical and machinability, and leading to increased scrap rates. Foam ceramic filters remove inclusions and reduce turbulence to achieve a rapid and stable molten metal filling flow rate, thereby improving casting quality.

 

They offer significant filtration effects on all steel grades, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and cobalt-based and nickel-based superalloys.

Made of pure zirconium oxide, they can withstand temperatures up to 1760℃ and are insensitive to variations in pouring temperature for different steel grades.

Alumina foam ceramic filters, with an operating temperature of 1250℃, are suitable for filtering and purifying aluminum and alloy solutions. To meet the increasingly stringent quality requirements of aluminum castings, the use of alumina foam ceramic filter sheets (plates) is becoming increasingly important. Filter discs are also widely used in ordinary sand casting, such as tide casting, and mold casting, such as the casting of automotive aluminum parts.
