Service Life of Foam Ceramic Filters Categorized by Application Scenario
Feb 15, 2026
Molten Steel Filtration: During the casting process, foam ceramic filters are used to remove inclusions from scorching molten steel. A single filtration cycle lasts only about 10 seconds, and the filter fulfills its purpose immediately after the molten steel has flowed through it.
Molten Aluminum Filtration: In aluminum alloy casting, the service life of a single foam ceramic filter plate is relatively long, typically ranging from 10 to 20 hours; for high-purity melts, this duration can extend to over 36 hours.
Aerospace-Grade High-Purity Aluminum Filtration: Due to extremely stringent purity requirements, filters are replaced within 4 to 8 hours - even if they are not yet fully clogged-to ensure the absolute cleanliness of the molten metal.
