The lifespan of a ceramic filter is generally between 6 months and 3 years. The exact duration depends on factors such as the usage scenario, the characteristics of the filter media, and maintenance. It can be categorized as follows:
Household/Consumer Use: For example, ceramic filter cartridges used for water purification (filtering impurities and some microorganisms from tap water). If the water quality is relatively clean and the usage frequency is moderate, the lifespan is approximately 1-2 years. If the water is turbid and contains many impurities, it may need to be replaced every 6-12 months (backwashing can extend the lifespan by 1-3 months, but the effectiveness will gradually decrease).
Industrial Use: When used for filtering high-temperature flue gas, dust, or corrosive media, because the media may contain high concentrations of particles, chemicals, or be at high temperatures (such as ceramic membrane filtration of industrial wastewater), the lifespan is usually shorter, approximately 6-18 months. If used for filtering relatively clean gases (such as laboratory gas filtration), the lifespan may reach 2-3 years.
Special environments: In high-temperature, high-pressure, or highly corrosive environments, ceramic materials may experience aging and cracking, leading to decreased filtration performance and a further shortened lifespan. Timely inspection and replacement are necessary based on equipment operating conditions (e.g., increased pressure differential, decreased filtration efficiency).
